2220 Canton is nestled between the downtown business district, Dallas Farmer's Market, and Deep Ellum. It is in close proximity to everything in Dallas. You can walk just about anywhere.
The building has been the site of movies, photoshoots, commercials, documentaries, and reality tv shows. You've probably seen it on HGTV or on the nightly dating show The 5th Wheel.
Want to go around Dallas and don't have a car, or you have a gas guzzler? No problem. The building is 4 blocks from the bus station and 5 blocks from the subway/rail station, both called DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit). The rails and buses go overywhere in Dallas. You can even hop a rail to Fort Worth if you want.
Exercise in the gym on the first floor or take a dip in the pool or hot tub on the roof. This is the only building in downtown Dallas with a perfect skyline view, a rooftop pool, and rooftop running track. You can sit in the hot tub and see all of downtown Dallas. It's unbelievable. There are also tables, chairs, lounges, a bathroom, and shower on the rooftop. It's perfect for any occasion, whether it's an intimate or group affair.
Have a huge (or small) party on the rooftop or walk one block down to the Deep Ellum district, described as a little New Orleans and the southern SOHO (the NY SOHO). Or, if you prefer an older crowd, walk down Main Street, 4 blocks away, for Neiman Marcus shopping at their first location, groceries, sushi, Dallas' best pizza, great texmex, nightclubs, more bars and restaurants, and the very attractive Dallas residents and tourists.
Deep Ellum is filled with an incredible number (almost matching 6th st in Austin) of nightclubs, concert venues, bars, restaurants, shops, and theater. In fact, The building is only 2 blocks from the famous Gypsy Tea Room, which attracts world renowned international rock bands into a tiny 250 person venue where you can stand within 5 feet of the band of the evening.
For hip dining 24 hours, hit the unique Cafe Brazil, where you can drink all the coffee you want for a low price while you dine and browse the wireless Internet free of charge. Cafe Brazil is located on Elm Street next to the famous Trees concert venue and The Green Room, a four star high end restaurant that draws the most attractive crowd in Dallas.
Have dogs? There is a great dog park one block away where dogs have 2 acres of gated grassland and trees to run and play with allthe other dowtown doggies. It's free of course.
Prefer the lake? Take a short drive down Canton Street to the east and take a right on Gaston Avenue, then a left on Garland Rd. You are there. White Rock Lake is a wonderful place to relax, ride your road or mountain bike, go fishing, get some sun, run or walk, or have a picnic. It has bike and hike paths all the way around it and if you make it the whole way, you've gone 10 miles.
White Rock Lake is adjacent to the beautiful Arborteum Gardens. If you like flowers, trees, and nature in general it is definitely worth a visit. You can bring your own favorite beverages and have a picnic surrounded by water fountains, views of the lake, trees, flowers, and singing birds. Very romantic!!
If you like viewing artwork, hit the art district 7 blocks away for the Dallas Museum of Art and The Nasher Sculpture Garden. The are adjacent to one another and you should visit both. Incredible!
